Kiffin to USC; Vols may be screwed

January 13, 2010 · 1 Comment

Lane Kiffin’s surprise departure to USC may leave the Vols high and dry for the 2010 signing period. It may also cost the AD and UT President’s their jobs- many folks were not happy about the way they handled the Phil Fulmer “situation.”

All and all this has been a wacky last month in college football- Mike Leach, Jim Leavitt, Pete Carroll Urban (Legend) Meyer. Now Lane to USC after one year on Rocky Top. Let’s hope next fall is this unpredictable. See the ESPN video and the local Knoxville TV video about Ed Orgeron (UT Assistant moving to USC with Lane) wooing UT recruits to USC. Is USC destined for probation? The last month or so shows everyone all the hypocrisy in the college game. Ed is just doing what he has always done and Vol fans shouldn’t be fain being appalled.

Even as the Lane train pulls out of Knoxville (as a Vol fan I am sad for the upheaval); Lane Kiffin may still be the hottest head coach in college football. I would love to see shirtless pictures of him.

Good stuff. You’re right about the AD but in the end this may be the best thing for UT. Kiffin is an unproven commodity with lots of potential. Tennessee has a chance to get it right this time.
